Overview

We collaborated with WE3Lab from Stanford University to develop an MVP for energy flexibility modeling in wastewater treatment plants.

The Challenge

The team needed to gather domain knowledge about wastewater treatment plants, their modeling, and energy consumption patterns. The development required data acquisition, energy consumption modeling, cloud infrastructure, and a highly interactive user interface.

Our Solution

We built an automated system for data acquisition from multiple sources including WWTP schematics, energy consumption, and equipment data. The flexible modeling API uses optimization software to predict energy consumption and generate financial models based on historical data, all deployed on AWS.

Key Features

Automated data acquisition pipeline
Energy consumption modeling API
SCADA data processing
Alternative scenario creation
Prefect workflow orchestration
Interactive simulation setup

Results

Successfully delivered the MVP enabling founders to gather customer feedback. The tool can calculate operational sweet spots for wastewater treatment plants in a few hours with sufficient input data.
